High Noon

I really enjoyed this film. I noticed that everytime Kane was shown as he was searching for prospective deputies the same "theme" music was used. Kinda gave it a sort of Peter and the Wolf feel.

Gary Cooper sutble facial gestures are still the best. He does it better than any actor I have seen....I think Edward Norton might be a close 2nd.

  1. Hi Joelle,

Yes, I agree with you. High Noon has class and still holds up today. I especially appreciated the bravery, both for the character and the film, of Mrs. Kane going against everything she believed in to save her new husband's life. It was very "women's lib" for its time. Love conquered all, righteousness prevailed, and the protagonist changed. That yellow town didn't deserve a sheriff like Kane, but still, he (and she) saved the town. Great story well told through refreshingly underplayed acting.
