Dirty Grandpa Review

In 2016, the movie Dirty Grandpa, was a famous sex comedy film. It was produced by Bill Bock, Michael Simkin, Jason Barret, and Barry Josephson. It starred famous actors Robert De Niro and Zac Efron along with a few others Zoey Deutch, Aubrey Plaza and Julianne Hough. It was released on January 22nd, 2016. It made over $105 million worldwide.

    Jason Kelly (Zac Efron), a lawyer who works for his father, Dick Kelly (Robert De Niro) begin their story with Jason Kelly’s grandmother dying. This throws Dick off edge, and he decides to become wild and unlike himself. Jason Kelly’s character has a fiance named Meredith (Julianne Hough), and are getting married in one week. But, Dick decides he needs a getaway and won’t go without Jason. They set their location at Daytona Beach Florida, where Jason’s old photography classmates Shadia (Zoey Deutch), whom he has had history with and two of her other friend Lenore (Aubrey Plaza). Dick wants to have sex with any woman that he can and he’s really interested in Lenore. At the beach, there’s a young crowd where Dick and Jason smokes crack cocaine, play beer pong, and Jason ends up not remembering anything. He is left on the beach naked the next morning with just his fanny pack on. Jason had several missed calls from Meredith (whose crazy). Long story short, Jason ends up getting thrown into jail because he was accused of being a pervert on the beach. Later that night, Jason ends up getting bailed out by Dick after many brawls and interesting and encounters. After jail, at Jason’s wedding rehearsal, Dick hacks into the computer system where there is embarrassing photos that are leaked from Jason’s behavior at the party on Daytona Beach. Later, Jason tells Meredith he cannot marry her and in return, Meredith confesses that she was having an affair the entire time of their relationship. Jason and Shadia kiss and Dick and Lenore kick it off and have a baby.

  1. Although this movie is crazy and brash, I thoroughly enjoyed it and it made me laugh on multiple occasions. It is always funny to see Robert De Niro play a non-serious role and it is clear that the directors just set him free to have a good time during the making of this film
