I was looking out for this scene while we were watching the movie in class. You are right it did send off a feeling of danger. Why didn't she just throw the key by his desk and pretend like it fell off the chain!? The whole time I was hoping she would do that and defend her guilt, but I guess then we wouldn't have had the ending we did.
